APK (Android Package Kit)

What it is: Standard file format for Android apps, with each APK file including all the components needed to install the app.

Install:

• Download the APK file to your device.
• Locate the APK file using your file manager.
• Click on the file to start the installation. If prompted, enable “Install from Unknown Sources” in your settings.
• Follow the instructions displayed on the screen to complete the installation process.

Uninstall:

• Access your device’s settings.
• Proceed to ‘Applications’ or ‘Application Manager’.
• Select the app you want to remove.
• Tap ‘Uninstall’ and confirm.

XAPK

What it is: An archive that merges an APK file with additional assets such as an OBB file, facilitating easier distribution of the app using additional files.

Install:

• Download the XAPK installer from our app store.
• Download and initialize the XAPK file using the XAPK installer.
• The installer will automatically extract and install the APK along with any additional files.

Uninstall: Identical to the APK uninstallation process.

APKs

What it is: A file format that includes multiple APKs, often catering to different architectures or screen densities, allowing the most optimal version to be installed for your device.

Install:

• Download the XAPKS Installer from our app store.
• Activate the APKS file through the settings app.
• The application will distinguish and install the most suitable APK for your device.

Uninstall: Same as standard APK uninstallation.

OBB (Opacity Binary Blob):

What it is: Significant files used by some Android apps to hold additional data such as graphics and media that are too large to be included in the APK.

Install:

• These files are often paired with APK or XAPK files.
• Post APK/XAPK installation, place the OBB file in the ‘Android/OBB/[package name]’ folder on your device storage.

Uninstallation: Typically, deleting an OBB file includes uninstalling the corresponding app, as described in the APK removal steps.
